In 2016 First Line expected to go live with Microsoft Dynamics AX as its ERP Financial solution. Syscom was engaged through the Dynamics Medic service to perform a project recovery and supported a successful go-live at the start of 2018, establishing Dynamics AX as the operational backbone for First Line’s global distribution operations.
First Line runs Microsoft Dynamics AX across its distribution, warehouse, and finance functions to support an aftermarket product range exceeding 40,000 SKUs and distribution into over 70 countries. The implementation emphasizes warehouse management and finance functionality, with First Line’s internal Dynamics experts developing custom modifications to address sector-specific requirements and Syscom providing targeted technical augmentation.
Syscom’s recovery and subsequent work included a formal Dynamics system health check, followed by discrete support days to remediate identified issues. Practical technical activities documented in the health check and carried out during the engagement included additional AOS setup, backup solutions, training, system consultancy on the finance module, and hands-on warehouse management module work.
Governance and operational support were structured around First Line’s internal team supported by Syscom, with Syscom appointed as ongoing Microsoft Partner since 2018 and providing Time and Materials support rather than a standing 12 month contract. The health check report formed the basis for a year of prioritized support and collaboration, and First Line has continued to trust Syscom for future plans including an upgrade migration to MS Dynamics 365.
