In 2022 Forvia implemented SAP S/4 HANA to modernize its ERP Financial footprint, replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with a WYNSYS supported program. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment was positioned as the central ERP Financial platform to consolidate core financial, procurement and commercial transaction processing across Forvia’s business units.
The implementation of SAP S/4 HANA emphasized SAP FICO as the primary financial module set, together with Purchasing and Sales modules, program costing and management capabilities, and HR integration for payroll and employee master data flows. SAP S/4 HANA was configured to enforce a consistent core model across these domains, with master data governance, central ledger patterns and standardized cost accounting and program costing workflows aligned to ERP Financial requirements.
Integrations implemented included HR integration to synchronize employee and payroll data with financial posting processes, and transaction level connections between Purchasing, Sales and FICO for order to cash and procure to pay flows. The program used internal and external resources led by a Core Business Service Manager based in Nanterre, who led project core teams and acted as the interface between business stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into SAP S/4 HANA configurations.
Governance focused on data management and project portfolio controls, the Core Business Service Manager playing a gatekeeper role to ensure core model consistency and to coordinate change control across SAP FICO, Purchasing, Sales, program costing and HR integration. Configuration work included mapping production orders to shop floor events, standardizing data models for plant KPIs, and implementing interfaces to capture machine and process states consistent with Manufacturing Execution System functional patterns.
Integrations were implemented to synchronize SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence with Forvia SAP ERP and SAP EWM, aligning production order status, inventory reservations, and goods movement events between execution and enterprise systems. WYNSYS supported the end to end rollout and ongoing technical support, enabling integrated master data flows and operational event streams between ERP, EWM, and MII across multiple global sites.
Governance emphasized a centralized SAP support model and standardized rollout templates to manage configuration variance across plants, with change control and release processes coordinated by WYNSYS and Forvia IT. The deployment impacted manufacturing operations, production planning, and warehouse execution functions by providing unified shop floor visibility and consistent execution interfaces through SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence.
