SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Fuchs Petrolub SE implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial application. The deployment centralized core financial processing on SAP ERP ECC 6.0 while relying on Oracle database licenses that have supported the company’s SAP landscape and SAP BW since 1998. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation encompassed standard ERP Financial capabilities, including financial accounting, controlling, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, asset accounting and period close workflows. Configuration focused on harmonizing master data and financial posting rules to support group-level consolidation and operational accounting across business units. Technical architecture included a tightly coupled SAP ERP ECC 6.0 instance integrated with SAP BW for reporting and analytics, with Oracle licensed as the underlying database platform. Oracle initiated a license clarification request in 2012, and the subsequent audit executed by Oracle partner Logicalis relied on inventory data using older metrics, which highlighted changes in Oracle licensing rules and a rising user footprint for SAP applications. The audit and licensing dialogue produced a notable need for additional Oracle licensing and prompted Fuchs to address software inventory and license governance for its SAP landscape. Operational ownership remained concentrated in finance, accounting and controlling functions, with the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 instance serving as the primary ERP Financial system for the Fuchs group.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Core HR HCM n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Fuchs Petrolub SE implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as part of a broader adoption of the SAP SuccessFactors suite to address Core HR needs across HR and learning functions. The program focused on centralizing employee master data and formalizing staff development processes to reduce fragmentation in HR administration and learning management. The implementation included SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and the Learning module, configured to provide single-source employee master data and to govern staff development workflows. Functional configuration emphasized centralized administration for personnel records, role based access for HR teams, and Learning module structures to deliver target-group-specific training units and curricula. Fuchs selected tts as the implementation partner because of documented best practices in SAP SuccessFactors projects and demonstrable expertise in eLearning for change management. With scarce HR resources and a planned seven month go live, the project adopted a predefined rapid implementation approach, prioritizing on time and on budget delivery and strong process governance to control scope and decision points. Operational rollout stressed eLearning driven user enablement, requiring concise, professionally designed learning units tailored by target group so end users could quickly and intuitively operate the new HR system. Governance changes centered on centralized HR administration, standardized employee master data stewardship, and structured learning workflows, aligning the companys HR and staff development functions to the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Core HR platform.

SAP Legacy SAP BW (Business Warehouse) Data Warehouse Analytics and BI n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Fuchs Petrolub SE implemented SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as its Data Warehouse platform. The implementation centralized analytical data processing for the group SAP landscape and supported enterprise reporting and analytics tied to existing SAP ERP deployments. SAP BW (Business Warehouse) was provisioned on Oracle database licenses that Fuchs had maintained since 1998 for its SAP ERP and SAP BW applications, creating a storage and query layer aligned with the SAP application stack. The Data Warehouse deployment emphasized data consolidation, structured data modeling and provisioning of analytical datasets for business intelligence and reporting workflows. Oracle initiated a license clarification in 2012 and the audit was conducted by Oracle partner Logicalis using an inventory with older metrics, which identified gaps given subsequent changes to Oracle licensing rules. The changes in Oracle license conditions and the growing importance of the SAP application across the Fuchs group increased the counted user base and created a significant need for additional Oracle licensing. This sequence required tighter coordination between IT, licensing governance and procurement to address compliance and ongoing capacity planning.
