Infor Legacy Infor SunSystems ERP Financial ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Furness College implemented Infor SunSystems as the core ledger for a new finance platform, initiating a full review after an announcement that QLx Financials from Unit4 would be retired. LAKE was selected to deliver the project based on its product expertise and perceived service quality, and the engagement defined Infor SunSystems as the primary ERP Financial application for the college finance function. The deployment combined Infor SunSystems with Proactis to deliver complementary capabilities, with Infor SunSystems configured for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and financial reporting, and Proactis handling procurement and purchase-to-pay workflows. Configuration work focused on aligning the chart of accounts and transaction processing to college finance processes, and on implementing standard ERP Financial controls and reporting structures. LAKE implemented integration between Infor SunSystems and Proactis to enable procurement transaction flows into the financial ledger and to support end-to-end purchase-to-pay processing. Operational coverage targeted the central finance department at Furness College, covering supplier invoicing, payment processing and routine accounting operations across the institution. Governance emphasized a vendor-led implementation approach, data migration from the existing QLx Financials environment and a phased cutover to limit disruption to academic year financial cycles. The program positioned Infor SunSystems and Proactis as the colleges ERP Financial backbone with LAKE providing implementation services and product expertise.
