In 2007 Gates Corporation implemented Oracle E-Business Suite Benefits to manage employee benefit eligibility and administration within its Benefits Administration portfolio. The implementation supported eligibility file feeds covering 25,000 plus employees, retirees, and dependents, while interfacing with payroll processes that handled weekly, biweekly, and monthly payrolls for a 4,000 plus active payroll population.
Oracle E-Business Suite Benefits was deployed alongside Core HR, Payroll, and Advanced Benefits modules, with custom PL/SQL and UNIX script development used to extend and automate benefits rules and eligibility processing. Technical ownership included coding and configuration of Advanced Benefits components, and ongoing technical support for Core HR, Payroll, and Oracle Advanced Benefits functional areas.
Integrations implemented included inbound and outbound weekly 401k interfaces to a third party retirement provider, and inbound Oracle Payables interfaces to AMEX for employee and supplier payments. The implementation also included customized edits to order management routines and support enhancements for Order Management, connecting benefits eligibility and payroll processes to accounts payable and order workflows.
Operational governance centered on a single technical support role that provided system maintenance, interface management, and analytical support to HR and payroll stakeholders. Deployment architecture emphasized database driven PL/SQL extensions and UNIX based scripting for batch eligibility and payroll interfacing, with formalized weekly and semi monthly eligibility file processing to sustain Benefits Administration operations.

In 2012, Gates Corporation deployed Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to establish a centralized Analytics and BI capability supporting manufacturing reporting needs across executive, business analyst, and customer representative functions. The implementation emphasized SQL Server Reporting Services as the primary presentation layer while leveraging the broader Microsoft BI stack for analytical modeling and data integration.
The deployment focused on SSRS report development, delivering matrix reports, drill down and drill through navigation, subreports, chart reports, multi parameterized reports, and Cross-Tabbed Reports. Report server configuration and report model generation were completed to enable both formatted operational reports and ad-hoc reporting for different levels of end user, aligning report designs with role based information needs.
Reports were authored to draw content from a variety of data sources, with deployment targets that included web browser, XML output, and PDF distribution formats. Scheduling was implemented for daily, weekly, and monthly report delivery through SQL Server Reporting Services to support recurring information needs for executives, business analysts, and customer representatives across product categories and regions.
Operational governance included administration of created reports, assignment of execution permissions to valid user accounts, and management of report models to control user interactions. Ongoing support centered on ad-hoc report design, permissions administration, and scheduled distribution workflows, positioning Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as the core Analytics and BI platform for reporting operations at Gates Corporation.
