Infor Legacy Infor SunSystems ERP Financial ERP Progressive TSL 2011 2012
In 2011, Genel Energy implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment was delivered by Progressive TSL after Genel evaluated SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics, and opted for Infor10 SunSystems to meet joint venture accounting and reporting requirements. The implementation included Infor10 SunSystems core financials and the integrated Infor XM Time Management time recording solution. Configuration emphasized multicurrency support at both transactional and reporting levels, enhanced reporting capabilities to simplify custom report authoring, and technical improvements to support remote working while maintaining a single source of financial data. A centralised IT environment was designed to serve the entire group, reflecting requirements for accessibility, scalability and high availability across multiple locations. The infrastructure was built as a fully redundant solution with clustered databases, redundant servers, robust network storage and an automated switchover mechanism to minimise single points of failure and support business continuity. Finance process redesign accompanied the rollout, centralising financial accounting and reporting to produce a single source of data accessible from all Genel offices. The project timeline originated in October 2012 and accelerated to a November 2012 go-live with core accounting functions operational within six weeks, while Infor XM Time Management went live in January 2013. Reported operational outcomes include significant reductions in time and effort across the finance team, faster month-end close activities including invoice and expense processing, time writing, cost allocations, account reconciliations, joint interest billings, DD&A calculations and asset valuations, and a full suite of group management reports ready by the ninth working day with minimal manual intervention.
