In 2021 NASSCO-Norfolk implemented Prometheus Contractor Management (ex WorkTech) as its Workforce Management solution to centralize time, attendance, and contractor cost collection. Prometheus Contractor Management (ex WorkTech) serves as a single system for employee and independent contractor time and attendance data, targeted at reducing duplicate entry across payroll, ERP, EAM, and CMMS systems.
The implementation leverages WT Time capabilities to support batch uploads and interactive employee entry of time, attendance, and cost data, with real-time validation against company rules, union work rules, and government regulations. Business rules are configured to auto-populate related fields and apply complex wage rules and cost allocation during a single entry, while mobile data entry supports approvals, geolocation, and overtime availability. The solution also manages leave requests and approvals, and includes fatigue handling logic to enforce work hour constraints.
Integration points for the deployment include two-way exchanges with enterprise systems such as Maximo, SAP, and Oracle, and with Prometheus Group components including STO Planner and the Prometheus platform, enabling import of work orders, projects, and employee qualification data. WT Time verifies employee eligibility for specific assignments and checks availability of budget funds before allocation, and managers can review complete, validated time and cost data in the context of a work order or project to keep project costing and approvals aligned.
Governance was configured to use multiple user roles and permissions to secure data, while giving managers the ability to define business rules and lay out screens using company terminology without custom coding. The solution produces validated, clean data at entry, which supports streamlined review and approval processes and reduces the need to identify and correct errors after the fact, outcomes described in the Prometheus WorkTech Time documentation.
