In 2012, Geotek implemented Exact Macola 10. Exact Macola 10 was provisioned as Geotek's ERP Financial system to centralize accounting and transactional processes for the 200-employee manufacturing firm.
The implementation emphasized core financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management, coupled with inventory control and shop floor transaction support consistent with manufacturing finance workflows. Reporting and document generation were implemented using Crystal Reports and configured to deliver period close and operational reports to finance and production stakeholders.
The technical architecture used a SQL backend and was deployed into the companys virtual server environment, with IT skills oriented to SQL administration, applications development, virtual servers, Microsoft Exchange Server and infrastructure security. Exact Macola 10 was configured to leverage existing telecommunications and Exchange Server capabilities for system notifications and user authentication, while application development resources provided customizations and integrations to internal data workflows.
Operational ownership included finance, purchasing and production teams with IT responsible for system administration and ongoing development, using project management and office productivity tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office to govern rollout and change management. Governance focused on workflow alignment between accounting and shop floor processes and on operational controls for reporting and security administration.
