Prior to cutover, System21 Shop Floor Works Order Management and System21 Warehouse Management were introduced to mirror expected SAP functionality, and an extended SAP data migration team and central Master Data management function were created to manage master data templates and migrations into SAP S/4 HANA.
Architecture and operational integration work accompanied the rollout, including network upgrades such as fully managed MPLS, introduction of SD WAN to support SAP access, consolidation of data centres with QoS between primary and secondary sites, and a move to Office 365 on Azure for collaboration. Interfaces explicitly tested and validated as part of the SAP S/4 HANA program included EDI messaging, Tradeplace messaging portals, and CRM interfaces with Microsoft Dynamics CRM to maintain order and customer data flows.
Governance and testing were structured around SIP and UAT cycles with divisional involvement, and master data governance was formalized to support the phased rollouts.
