The implementation included configuration and alignment of financial management capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA alongside manufacturing oriented modules. Prior to cutover, System21 Shop Floor Works Order Management and System21 Warehouse Management were introduced to mirror expected SAP functionality, and an extended SAP data migration team and central Master Data management function were created to manage master data templates and migrations into SAP S/4 HANA. Architecture and operational integration work accompanied the rollout, including network upgrades such as fully managed MPLS, introduction of SD WAN to support SAP access, consolidation of data centres with QoS between primary and secondary sites, and a move to Office 365 on Azure for collaboration. Interfaces explicitly tested and validated as part of the SAP S/4 HANA program included EDI messaging, Tradeplace messaging portals, and CRM interfaces with Microsoft Dynamics CRM to maintain order and customer data flows. Governance and testing were structured around SIP and UAT cycles with divisional involvement, and master data governance was formalized to support the phased rollouts. Phase 1 covered two manufacturing facilities and one distribution centre with a September 2019 go live and Phase 2 proceeded in January 2020, and a capital investment of circa £65,000 in preparatory shop floor and warehouse projects was recorded to reduce migration disruption.

In Oct 2021 to Mar 2022 an Interim HRIS PM and SME was engaged to produce a strategic options paper, the objective was to assess whether to improve integration between existing Mitrefinch HR, time and attendance and a Frontier payroll system or to move to a fully integrated solution. That advisory work was delivered remotely from Newry, Northern Ireland and focused on integration architecture choices, data reconciliation workflows, and governance required between HR and payroll functions.
