In 2016, Global Cruise Lines Ltd. deployed Spectec AMOS Enterprise Management Suite as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to manage fleet IT and telecommunication infrastructure across its vessels. The implementation supported new vessel setup including application, systems and network procurement and configuration overseen by the fleet IT team, and delivered centralized administration for fleet level visibility and control.
Spectec AMOS Enterprise Management Suite was configured to maintain an authoritative asset register for onboard IT and telecom equipment and to instrument maintenance planning, work order management, and spare parts tracking consistent with Enterprise Asset Management practices. Configuration work emphasized vessel specific asset records, service schedules, and standardized workflows to support system provisioning during new vessel commissioning.
The technical architecture integrated the EAM platform with onboard virtualization and application delivery layers, specifically VMware ESXi and the Citrix Xen product family, while Microsoft Active Directory provided identity and access management. Network and messaging integrations included Kerio Control Firewall and Connect Mail Server, FortiGate Firewall, Baracuda mail filter, and MS Exchange, and telephony integration used Alcatel OmniPCX. Operational systems interfaced with Cruise Manager administration, Danaos, and the ships routing and switching infrastructure to coordinate maintenance data, procurement, and system configuration.
Operational ownership rested with the fleet IT and telecommunications function, with dedicated Spectec AMOS administration and repeatable new vessel onboarding processes. Governance and process changes focused on standardizing configuration and procurement checklists, centralizing asset data in the Enterprise Asset Management system, and aligning maintenance workflows between onboard crews and shore based support teams.
