In 2021, Magazine Zum Globus implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its central ERP Financial system to support retail finance and merchandise operations. The deployment placed SAP S/4 HANA at the core of financial accounting and operational recordkeeping while aligning end to end merchandise management and omnichannel processes with the companys retail business functions.
Magazine Zum Globus configured SAP S/4 HANA to address ERP Financial capabilities including financial accounting and controlling alongside retail merchandise management and omnichannel order and inventory workflows. Configuration and process design emphasized E2E process flows between merchandising, inventory planning, pricing, and the financial ledgers to maintain consistent transactional integrity across sales channels.
Operational governance for the SAP S/4 HANA environment centers on coordination between business stakeholders, IT, and external providers, with structured acceptance testing, defect handling, and service request processes. The program established roles for requirements capture, specification development, and quality assurance to sustain daily merchandise management and omnichannel operations.
From January 2024 Magazine Zum Globus staffed a Business Analyst at 80 to 100 percent based at the Zurich headquarters to lead sub projects and work packages in merchandise management. That role is responsible for collecting business requirements, developing specifications and concepts, coordinating acceptance tests and quality assurance, handling fault reports and service requests, and delivering training to sustain SAP S/4 HANA driven retail processes.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Retail | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 Magazine Zum Globus implemented SAP Retail as the core application in its Retail Management environment to consolidate store and eCommerce operational workflows. The initiative targeted retail operations across Swiss stores and connected warehouse sites, with IT support activities coordinated from Otelfingen Zürich.
SAP Retail was configured to support in-store and online business functions, with emphasis on transaction processing, inventory visibility and operational interactions with warehouse systems. Functional workstreams included change request testing and new feature introductions, targeted case analyses for technical problem resolution, and process-oriented system adjustments driven by Key User feedback.
The implementation established persistent interfaces between SAP Retail, SAP WM and Logis, enabling end-to-end flows for goods movement and warehouse transactions. Operational coverage extended to warehouse management systems and the hardware layer, integrating handheld terminals, PCs, printers, telephony and network infrastructure with SAP Retail data flows.
Governance and runbook responsibilities were defined around Key User support, authorization management and data cleansing activities, alongside procurement and lifecycle management of hardware. Ongoing operational practices include system testing of CRs, training and process support, and a formal interface into the central IT organization and external service providers to coordinate incident resolution and system maintenance.

| Celonis GmbH | Legacy | Celonis Execution Management Platform | Process Mining | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Magazine Zum Globus implemented the Celonis Execution Management Platform for Process Mining to instrument its shipping and eCommerce processes and surface end to end execution visibility. Globus engaged Celonis after persistent issues delivering on orders and struggles with cancellations, and the company brought in the Celonis Execution Management Platform to gain full transparency over shipping and eCommerce processes and maximize execution capacity. These processes are quite new, and it was exciting to see if our definition of them matched the real processes, remembers Andreas Hink, Chief Digital Officer at Globus.
The Celonis Execution Management Platform was applied to discover actual process flows and variants, generate visual process maps, run conformance analysis and root cause investigation, and support execution orchestration to address bottlenecks in order fulfillment and cancellation pathways. Celonis Execution Management Platform process mining and execution management features were used to translate event data into actionable insights, enabling operational teams to prioritize capacity gaps and sequence remediation activities.
Operational scope centered on shipping and eCommerce business functions within Magazine Zum Globus, with process definitions validated against live execution data and workflows adjusted based on analytic findings. Governance and workflow restructuring focused on aligning digital process definitions with real process performance, using the platform to create repeatable monitoring and escalation practices that sustain transparency and improve execution capacity.
