In 2014, Goodwill Keystone Area implemented Abila Fundraising 50, a Fundraising CRM. The deployment established Abila Fundraising 50 as the primary donor management system for the Marketing & Development team and the Goodwill Keystone Area Foundation, centralizing gift entry, donor records, and outreach lists.
Configuration centered on donor record management, gift coding, gift entry workflows, donor acknowledgement generation and segmented mailing lists, with routine report builds to support monthly accounting reconciliation. Abila Fundraising 50 was used to produce mailings, custom reports and spreadsheets for finance and to ensure donor acknowledgement correspondence met IRS standards.
Operational coverage was concentrated within the Marketing & Development function and the Foundation, supporting event fundraising workflows, donor stewardship and campaign communications. Data from Abila Fundraising 50 was exported and formatted for monthly accounting reconciliation, and the system served as the source of truth for recording and properly coding charitable income from numerous sources.
Governance was driven by a designated knowledge expert in the Marketing & Development team who authored instruction manuals, created templates for mailings and reports and taught quarterly training sessions to operational users. Workflow controls included standardized coding rules for charitable income and documented acknowledgement procedures to align donor communication with IRS requirements.
