In 2017 Petbarn implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to execute an ERP Financial transformation focused on Finance, Operations and Point of Sale. The program completed the enterprise design and the operating model for core financial and retail processes, establishing the application as the centralized financial and transactional backbone for the business.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations was configured to support typical ERP Financial capabilities for a retail operator, including general ledger structures, accounts payable and receivable workflows, cash management processes, inventory valuation logic and point of sale transaction flows. The implementation emphasized alignment between store POS transactions and back-office financial posting, chart of accounts design, and orchestration of month end and financial close activities.
The enterprise design deliverable included governance and operating model artifacts that defined process ownership, role based access and change control across finance and retail operations in Australia. Operational rollout was framed around finance and operations process standardization, training for retail and corporate teams and documented procedures for sustaining the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial environment.

Configuration included interpretation of the Retail Award and setup for adhoc report generation, aligning payroll calculation and award logic with retail pay rules.
Operational integration included extraction of hours worked from the Kronos Time and Attendance register to feed ADP PayForce payroll calculations for store staff. The implementation covered payroll and HR touchpoints, with operational responsibility spanning payroll administration teams and store HR contacts, and the system handling queries from employees across stores and corporate sites.
Governance and workflow changes centered on a staffed Payroll Inbox to triage employee queries via email and phone, with a 24 hour turnaround service level for task response. Daily operational practices included routine extraction of hours from Kronos, validation of contract changes in ADP PayForce, and processing adhoc reports to support payroll administration and employee inquiries.
