Configuration emphasized core financial capabilities, including general ledger posting and month end P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, fixed asset registry and monthly depreciation, accounts payable and purchase order administration, corporate card expense processing, and cash receipts and reconciliation workflows. Deltek Maconomy was used to create and upload journal entries and financial data that supported recurring close activities and accruals management for open purchase orders. Integrations and operational touchpoints were explicit in the environment, Deltek Maconomy operated alongside SAP BFC Cartesis for reporting and data uploads, and it interfaced with daily bank activity feeds and corporate Amex expense processes to support reconciliations. The ERP also supported cross functional interactions with HR for onboarding and offboarding processes, with media teams for invoice to media buy matching, and with WPP’s FinancePlus USA after accounts payable was outsourced, requiring coordination across internal and external finance functions. Governance and process changes centered on centralized PO administration, stricter month end accrual remarking and approval workflows, and a designated finance operations contact model to streamline inquiries and issue resolution in partnership with IT. The implementation supported remediation efforts for SOX 404 internal control failures, an explicit outcome that resulted in the company receiving its first passing grade for those controls.
