In 2012 GuestLogix implemented MicroStrategy ONE Analytics as a centralized Analytics and BI solution to support an onboard retail analytics program. The implementation focused on report and dashboard design for projects including Fleet Wide Sales, Store level Sales, Product Mix, Affinity Analysis, Demand Analysis, Flight Attendant Analysis, POS Transmission Monitoring, Device Utilization Analysis, and Onboard Sales Processed dashboards and reports.
The implementation encompassed end to end BI development and MicroStrategy 9.2.1m configuration, covering data modeling, schema object creation, and analytic object design. Team activities included creating Attributes, Facts, Hierarchies, Tables, and Transformations, and defining public objects such as Metrics, Prompts, Custom Groups, Consolidations, Filters, Reports, and Documents. Report and dashboard techniques used slice and user defined aggregate functions to meet complex business requirements, and BI mobile application dashboards were created for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
Operational coverage integrated POS transmission feeds and onboard device telemetry to enable Device Utilization Analysis and POS Transmission Monitoring, supporting onboard retail operations and flight attendant sales workflows. The scope of business functions included retail sales analytics, product mix and demand analysis, and operational monitoring for devices and point of sale systems across the fleet and store level.
Governance and operational support included working with the project team to define metrics, KPI, and performance goals for the BI application, MicroStrategy Administration tasks such as Intelligence Server administration, memory configuration, performance monitoring, privilege assignment, job monitoring, and user management. Additional operational controls included object migration using Object Manager, coordination with the MicroStrategy vendor for technical issues and the 9.2.1m version upgrade, ongoing maintenance and support of existing projects, and OEM web cosmetic customizations.
