| Hornbill | Legacy | Hornbill HR Service Management | HR Service Delivery | HCM | n/a | 2023 | 2025 |
In 2023 Guys and St Thomas Hospital appointed Hornbill to implement Hornbill HR Service Management under the HR Service Delivery category, initiating a programme to digitise core HR operations and present a unified employee experience across its London sites. The programme objective was to centralise employee-facing HR services and increase operational visibility for NHS London HR teams.
The Trust deployed Hornbill HR Service Manager, the People Hub, to digitise more than 50 HR processes and configure employee self service workflows, case handling, and a consolidated HR portal. Configuration work focused on standard HR Service Delivery capabilities including form-driven requests, automated routing and approvals, and a knowledge base to reduce manual enquiry handling.
Daily employee records from ESR were integrated into the Hornbill environment using robotic process automation to synchronise personnel data and trigger HR workflows, creating an operational feed for case creation and updates. The implementation covered HR operational teams and staff across Guys and St Thomas Hospital sites in London, providing a single point of access for employees and HR administrators.
The Trust ran a tender process and appointed Hornbill in 2023, executing phased trust wide go lives in March and May 2025 as part of a staged rollout and governance plan. The programme specifically targeted HR process automation and operational visibility in NHS London and delivered measurable outcomes including 85% turnaround time compliance and reduced manual administrative work.

| Omnicell | Legacy | Omnicell Platform | Healthcare ERP, Pharmacy Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2024 | 2024 |
In 2024 Guys and St Thomas Hospital deployed the Omnicell Platform as part of a Healthcare ERP,Pharmacy Management initiative to standardize medication dispensing and inventory control across the trust. The deployment targeted automated medication dispensing and inventory workflows to improve medicines availability and governance.
Deployment used Omnicell XT automated cabinets and centralized inventory management across approximately 100 wards and 219 supply systems. The Omnicell Platform implementation included the XT automated dispensing cabinet fleet and inventory control capabilities configured to manage stock levels, access control, and replenishment workflows. The platform was integrated with the trust ePMA, Epic, to align dispensing events with electronic prescriptions and medication administration records and to support medicines governance and auditability.
Operational coverage included clinical wards and the pharmacy supply chain, with direct impact on nursing, pharmacy, and medicines management functions. Omnicell XT automated cabinets automated point of care issue, improved stock reconciliation and replenishment cadence, and reduced manual stock handling in ward workflows. According to Omnicell’s 2024 case study the UK-wide rollout returned over 101,000 nursing hours to patient care, reduced non-moving inventory by about 35 percent, and reduced medicine spend.
Governance changes centered on standardizing medicines governance processes and instrumenting reconciliation between dispensing hardware and the ePMA. Rollout emphasized inventory governance, replenishment automation, and point of care access controls to enforce medication policies and traceability. Integration between the Omnicell Platform and Epic ePMA provided a single medication record alignment point to support compliance and operational oversight.
