In 2018 H.J. Heinz implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial deployment using Oracle Cloud Financials R19, executed from April 2018 to August 2020 with project activities based in Pittsburgh, PA. The engagement centralized core financial processes under Oracle Cloud ERP and established a multi-organization configuration to support new corporate structures.
The implementation covered a broad set of functional modules, including Oracle General Ledger, Receivables, Revenue Management, i-Receivables, Oracle Payables, Cash Management, Advanced Collections, and AME, with additional configurations for i-Supplier, Supplier Life Cycle Management, i-Procurement, i-Expense, OM, and manufacturing modules BOM and WIP. The team defined ledgers, designed the chart of accounts, configured the accounting calendar, cross-validation and security rules, and enabled translation, revaluation and consolidation capabilities in General Ledger. Revenue Management work included setup of revenue recognition in AR, defining accounting and invoicing rules, revenue contingencies and establishing revenue rules aligned to SOP 97-2 standards.
Taxation and expense management were implemented as core capabilities, using the e-Business Tax module to configure US Sales Tax, Canadian GST and VAT treatment for EMEA, along with Tax Content Service, Tax Determination Services, lookup codes, TCA geography hierarchy and tax classification codes. i-Expense was configured for connected and disconnected expense reporting, credit card interface and P-Card functionality, per diem and mileage rules, multi-currency support, audit automation and a custom Expense Report Summary client extension.
Integrations and operational connectivity were instrumented with an explicit Revenue Recognition integration to RevStream, and the project coordinated custom integration validation between Oracle applications and existing on-premise applications. The team troubleshot Auto Invoice Import processing and built revenue reporting and forecasting models using Hyperion and Discoverer reporting tools. Multi-Org configuration was completed by creating a new Business Group, Legal Entity, Set of Books and Operating Unit, followed by regression testing to assess impacts on the prior organizational structure.
Governance artifacts and delivery controls were documented and executed, including BR100, MD050, TE40, TE50, TE040 UAT test scripts, CRP execution and user training. The delivery included technical and functional support to users, testers and Business System Analysts, and formal training in GL, Cash Management, i-Supplier, i-Receivables, AP, AR and e-Business Tax modules.
