In 2013 HanoverDirect implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize core accounting and payables workflows. The deployment focused on corporate finance functions supporting accounts payable, general ledger, cash management, vendor management, and financial reporting for the HanoverDirect finance organization.
Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured to handle high-volume transactional work, with operational processing that included entering and processing over 1,000 invoices and purchase orders monthly, preparing batch check runs, executing wire transfers and ACH transactions, and creating non-inventory PO requisitions. Functional capabilities implemented included Accounts Payable processing, Cash Management and bank reconciliation workflows, Journal Entry and General Ledger adjustments, Expense Management for employee reports, vendor onboarding and maintenance, petty cash control, and financial reporting including P and L preparation and prepaid catalog cost reconciliations.
Operational governance and day to day workflows were oriented around Controller-led monthly close and audit readiness, with the accounting team performing monthly bank reconciliations, GL account reconciliations, reconciled payable reports, maintenance of detailed balance sheet account listings, and participation in internal and external audits. Records management processes were formalized inside the system and supporting files, including electronic archiving and emailing of check register files, maintenance of open invoice file systems, preparation of void and stop payment documentation, and production of special reports requested by management.
