In 2013 Sun Hydraulics implemented Epicor Manage 2000 as its Manufacturing ERP. The deployment focused on manufacturing, quality and returns workflows at the company facility in Sarasota, Florida and targeted operational control for production cells and a dedicated forensics lab.
The implementation included explicit configuration of the Return to Vendor module in Epicor Manage 2000 and alignment of returns handling with RMA processes. Engineering and quality teams developed production capture tools to record rework and nonconformances for risk analysis, and the team revised RMA failure codes to increase data transparency for root cause analysis. Statistical process control was used to review and disposition production nonconforming material as part of the ERP driven quality workflow.
Integrations and data orchestration were executed in collaboration with IT, including a SharePoint document library and document approval workflow for business critical processes, and joint development of root cause and corrective action dashboards in Qliksense and PowerBI. The Epicor Manage 2000 implementation therefore became a component of a broader information stack that supported returns, corrective action tracking, and production quality reporting.
Governance was formalized under the internal ISO9001:2015 program, with resources organized to support a remote certification audit and ongoing internal compliance audits. Quality, manufacturing, forensics and IT functions were reorganized around the ERP enabled workflows for returns management, nonconformance capture, and corrective action tracking, while engineering introduced process controls such as a CNC lathe with robotic handling to control part feature geometry and to support ERP linked production processes.
