In 2013 Hilton Grand Vacations implemented Oracle OBIA within an OBIEE 11G environment to deliver Analytics and BI for corporate finance and entity level financial reporting. The effort, executed from May 2013 through July 2014, focused on architecting a new subject area specifically to meet Hilton Grand Vacations business intelligence analysis requirements and centralize financial reporting capabilities.
The implementation used Oracle OBIA Financial Analytics as the primary module and relied on the Oracle BI Administration Tool for metadata modeling and subject area design. Development produced custom financial analytics including GAAP Revenue, EBITDA, Volume Per Guest, and Cost of Product as % of Adjusted Sales, and these metrics were exposed through purpose built dashboards and presentation catalog objects.
Integration work included consolidating output previously produced in PeopleSoft nVision, reducing the dependence on more than 800 nVision reports by moving core reporting into approximately 20 OBIEE dashboards. The project delivered business and entity segment related dashboards with drill down, action link, and master detail event driven functionality to support finance and entity reporting workflows.
Governance and rollout included facilitated discovery, design, build, and training sessions that involved stakeholders at all levels of the organization, establishing new report provisioning processes and metadata governance practices within the BI platform. Training and documentation efforts supported a shift from dispersed nVision report maintenance to centralized OBIEE dashboard administration using the Oracle BI Administration Tool.
Outcomes explicitly documented in the engagement include the consolidation of hundreds of nVision reports into a smaller set of OBIEE dashboards and the creation of custom Hilton Grand Vacations financial analytics delivered via Oracle OBIA.
