In 2013, HKS, Inc implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR system, going live in January 2013 with OneSource Virtual as the implementation partner. The deployment established Workday HCM as the primary system of record for employee master data and organizational structure across the firm.
The Workday HCM implementation covered standard Core HR capabilities including employee record management, position and organization management, benefits administration, and time and absence tracking, while retaining an outsourced payroll execution model. Workday HCM was configured to support workforce and HR transactional workflows consistent with large professional services operations.
Operational delivery and payroll execution are managed by OneSource Virtual, which led the deployment and continues as the payroll service provider. OneSource Virtual processes nearly 3,000 on cycle payroll transactions for HKS each month, plus dozens of off cycle payments, and about 75% of those payroll transactions are direct deposit; HKS operates across nearly 1,400 employees in 50 states.
Governance centers on centralized HR recordkeeping in Workday HCM with payroll operations outsourced to OneSource Virtual, maintaining a long term SI partnership since go live. The architecture therefore separates Core HR functions in Workday HCM from payroll execution services provided by the SI, aligning HR, payroll, and operational coverage across the United States.
