In 2016, Holcim Philippines implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial deployment, positioning SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the company’s ERP Financial backbone to support finance and enterprise master data management. The rollout included end-to-end migration for Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand and targeted FICO, Material Master, Customer Master, Employee Master, Vendor Master and Service Master domains.
Configuration and operationalization focused on master data workflows and mass upload automation, moving mass upload responsibilities to the Master Data Management team by operationalizing SAP transaction codes LSMW, XD99 and MASS. The program used SE16 extracts for source data identification, field mapping and template alignment, followed by data cleansing, functional testing and cutover planning to produce upload file templates and ensure field-level conformance in SAP ERP ECC 6.0.
Integrations included automation of customer master data by integrating requests from the ticketing tool to SAP ECC, mapping all SAP required fields into the ticketing tool and introducing ticketing enhancements across regions through structured knowledge transfer. Operational coverage was centralized through an MDM team based in Taguig, with the project facilitating cross-function integrations, coordinating technical issue resolution during testing and providing hypercare after go-live.
Governance and control processes were formalized with a Master Data Governance Policy and Procedure Manual, daily SLA monitoring, monthly sampling controls for audit compliance, access mapping and documented cutover and go-live readiness checklists. The implementation established a 10 FTE Master Data Management team with documented career development, rigorous process documentation and business sign-offs, and included post-go-live hypercare and ongoing compliance checks.

The operational coverage included processing requests for master data across the Holcim East Asia Business Services office in Taguig, with specialists handling cross-OpCo workflows for Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Governance and process controls were embedded in the rollout through Master Data Governance policies, cleansing of Release Tables and Approval Matrices to identify deviations, and role-based validation of approvers. Specialist resources contributed to ongoing process improvements and served as master data stewards executing UAT and operationalizing approval and SLA workflows.
