MicroStrategy Legacy MicroStrategy ONE Analytics Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2015 2018
In 2015, Homesite Insurance deployed MicroStrategy ONE Analytics in the Analytics and BI category to centralize enterprise reporting, interactive dashboards and ad-hoc analysis. Homesite Insurance used MicroStrategy ONE Analytics in the Analytics and BI category to support management reporting, interactive dashboards and ad-hoc analysis and the implementation emphasized MicroStrategy object design and OLAP-driven data delivery. The implementation included creation of MicroStrategy objects such as Metrics including conditional, transformational, dimensional and compound metrics, Filters, Prompts, Templates and Reports. Dashboards and Scorecards were designed as Report Services Documents using new selectors like radio buttons, check boxes, slider and button bar, and datasets were built from Intelligent Cubes, derived metrics and view filters to enable interactive documents and time-based pass-through functions for current month and previous year analysis. Architecturally the project ingested tables via the Warehouse catalog, created Logical Tables and designed Data Models that fed Data Warehouses and Data Marts from logical models. OLAP services and Dynamic Sourcing for Intelligent Cubes were used to improve execution performance, and VLDB properties and SQL tuning were applied using SQL Navigator to validate queries against the MicroStrategy SQL engine. Administrative governance included User Management, Cache Management and Schedule Management, and migration processes were managed to move MicroStrategy projects and objects from Development to Testing to Production. Operational scope covered collaboration with management users and business stakeholders through business meetings to gather requirements, troubleshooting of prompts, filters, templates, consolidations and custom groups within an enterprise data warehouse team environment, and authoring of design and technical specification documents. The team also created custom drill maps and drill up down across options for ad-hoc reporting and built MicroStrategy reports to replicate views previously presented in Tableau dashboards.
