| Medical Information Technology | Legacy | MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) | Electronic Health Record | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2023 | 2023 | In 2023, Hospital Damas implemented MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) under the Electronic Health Record category. The deployment used MEDITECH's full service, cloud based subscription model and the web native Expanse platform to reduce upfront capital and staffing demands while preserving system independence, a model MEDITECH positioned among 37 hospitals that selected MaaS in 2023 and as part of the vendor's 100th Expanse MaaS customer milestone. The configuration centered on a managed, vendor hosted SaaS architecture providing mobile and web native access to the MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) Expanse solution across clinical and administrative environments at the Ponce, Puerto Rico acute care facility. Implementation included standard Electronic Health Record functional areas aligned with Expanse capabilities, such as clinical documentation, acute inpatient workflows, ambulatory and outpatient care orchestration, medication ordering, and patient engagement features. Operational scope focused on hospital clinical and administrative functions, shifting IT governance toward vendor managed provisioning and subscription based procurement to free local IT resources for other projects. Rollout and onboarding followed the MaaS subscription model emphasis on efficient onboarding and reduced on premise staffing, enabling Hospital Damas to take advantage of Expanse updates and vendor hosted operations. The hospital retained operational independence in governance while receiving the same Expanse experience delivered to other MaaS customers. |
