In 2017, HSBC deployed SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off within its Absence and Leave Management program. The HR Data Lead defined a detailed data migration strategy and end to end ETL process, performed data cleansing, developed complex field mapping, and prepared a technical cutover strategy for UAT, parallel payroll and production cutover phases. Data migration used Peoplesoft as the source for employee and absence records, and integrations were implemented using SuccessFactors Integration Center under a defined integration architecture. Integration touchpoints included SuccessFactors EC Time Off with Benefits, Payroll and Finance interfaces, and integration testing was included in system integration testing, user acceptance testing and parallel payroll cycles. Program governance established a dedicated data workstream plan with milestones, weekly HR MI reporting to HSBC senior management, and coordinated management of multiple offshore teams across time zones. The rollout emphasized stakeholder management across business, internal IT, workforce analytics and SI teams, and included Dress Rehearsal testing and sequenced technical cutover to stabilize go live.

Fusion BPM rules were defined to capture approval predicates and conditional routing as part of the process configuration. Integrations were scoped as inbound and outbound interfaces to support new country rollouts, with data migration, analysis, validation and cleansing specified as part of cutover planning. The work spanned full system development cycle activities including requirements gathering, analysis, development, testing and post go live support. Business functions directly impacted included Procurement, Expenses, Payables and Subledger Accounting, with the BPM layer providing centralized orchestration for those finance and procurement processes. Governance and process change activities centered on using business process design to drive functional, technical, quality, integration and security requirements. Business process activities were mapped to application components, proof of concepts were developed for integration patterns, and testing covered releases, patches and quarterly upgrades. The implementation role described is a functional and technical SME supporting BPM, integration and reporting, and operational support included raising Oracle Service Requests with Oracle Support for resolution of functional and technical issues.
