In 2014 Hudson's Bay Company implemented Oracle E-Business Suite for ERP Financial coverage. The program provided 24x7 production Oracle Applications maintenance, support and administration across the retailer's complex application landscape and operationally supported finance, procurement and inventory processes.
Implementation work included installation of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 and upgrades from EBS R12.1.3 to R12.2.5 on AIX, and cross migration of an EBS instance from Windows to Solaris. Functional modules addressed during the engagement included Financials, ASCP, MFG, CRM, AR, AP, GL, PO and INV, with application patching of ATG, Financials, HR and Projects family packs and mini packs along with all pre and post requisite patches. The engagement also included multiple installs of Oracle Fusion Applications and development on the Fusion technology stack, leveraging IDM, ODI, OBIEE, SOA, OSB, BPM, ADF Applications and WebLogic Server running on Oracle Database 11g and 12c.
Database and runtime architecture work incorporated installation and configuration of multiple 12c container and pluggable databases, implementation of active Data Guard standby and Data Guard broker, and RMAN backups for backup and recovery workflows. Security and data protection tasks included Database Vault, Audit Vault, Transparent Data Encryption and data masking, migrating data from non encrypted tablespaces to encrypted tablespaces, and enabling and disabling Database Vault across 11g and 12c environments. Authentication and identity integration centered on implementing SSO and OID 11.1.1.5 for EBS login, LDAP synchronization from Active Directory into OID, scheduling OIM jobs to provision users and using manual scripts to populate the FND user table.
Operational governance formalized post clone data masking as a standard post clone step, and included client side load balancing and failover plus server side connection load balancing. Regular maintenance practices captured quarterly SPU and CPU patching for the database, 11i and R12 applications. Performance engineering activities covered Oracle architecture tuning for I O, memory and overall performance, troubleshooting, networking, crash and disaster recovery planning and optimization.
