In 2005, Hunt & Hunt implemented Frontier Software iChris as its Core HR system. The deployment established a firmwide HR application to consolidate employee master data and standardize HR administration across Hunt & Hunt's Australian offices.
Frontier Software iChris was configured to provide core HR capabilities including employee records management, organisational and position management, leave and absence tracking, performance management workflows, recruitment and learning administration, and compliance reporting. Configuration work focused on role based access and HR process automation to support recurring HR tasks and reporting needs. The implementation emphasized data integrity for headcount and employee lifecycle processes.
Operationally, the application served HR and payroll adjacent functions and was positioned to interface with payroll and timekeeping processes where required, consistent with Core HR deployment patterns. In 2016, when Hunt & Hunt federated its New South Wales and Victoria offices, the HR organisation required separation and selective replication of systems and records, creating requirements for data partitioning across offices within the HR application. That governance change necessitated updated HR workflows and data segregation controls to align reporting lines and partner level oversight.
Governance of Frontier Software iChris centered on HR leadership reporting to managing partners, supporting compliance obligations such as work health and safety and equal employment reporting, and standardising performance review processes. The system was used as the authoritative source for HR administration and workforce reporting across the firm's offices.

In 2013, Hunt & Hunt deployed Caseflow as its Case Management application to centralize matter handling across its NSW practice and broader multi-office professional services operations. The deployment was coordinated by the NSW IT Manager and the internal Service Desk, working alongside a managed service provider to operationalize the platform within the firm’s existing IT roadmap.
Caseflow was configured to support core case management capabilities including matter records, document linking, workflow and task orchestration, and document automation. The implementation aligned document automation workflows with Microsoft Word macros and templates and with DocsCorp style controls, and Caseflow was used as part of the firm’s document-centric case processes alongside iManage Work.
The technical architecture placed Caseflow into the firm’s IaaS Windows Server environment and integrated authentication and authorization with Active Directory and Group Policy. Data persistence and reporting used the firm’s SQL infrastructure, while desktop and application deployment was managed via SCCM ConfigMgr and Intune, and the platform operated within the Microsoft 365 and Azure supported estate.
Governance for Caseflow operations was embedded in existing IT policy and compliance activity, including incident and event management supported by EDR and SIEM tools, BCP and DR planning, and regular reporting to the partnership. Operational ownership sat with the NSW IT team and the Service Desk, with vendor relationship management and IT asset and budget control incorporated into the firm’s IT processes.

| iManage | Legacy | iManage Work | Document Management | Content Management | n/a | 2011 | 2012 |
In 2011, Hunt & Hunt implemented iManage Work as its core Document Management platform. The deployment established a central document repository and search layer to support legal practice workflows across the firm, with operational oversight aligned to the NSW IT management function based in Sydney and support for an employee base of approximately 400.
The iManage Work implementation was configured to deliver standard Document Management capabilities including centralized document storage, version control, metadata indexing, check-in and check-out controls, and search-driven retrieval coupled with document lifecycle governance. The environment was integrated with document automation tooling and Microsoft Word templates to streamline template-driven drafting and document assembly, consistent with the firm’s use of document automation systems including Caseflow and DocsCorp.
The technical architecture ran on an IaaS Windows Server environment, with server administration responsibilities covering Microsoft Servers, Active Directory and Group Policy, DNS and DHCP, SQL and Hyper-V, and application delivery via SCCM/ConfigMgr and InTune. The iManage Work deployment interfaced with the firm’s Microsoft 365 and Azure services, Exchange and SharePoint Online, and adjacent legal systems such as Aderant Practice Management. Operational toolset integrations included BigHand, Papercut, endpoint protections and monitoring stacks referenced by the firm, namely EDR, SIEM and email gateway controls.
Governance and operational processes around iManage Work focused on security, privacy and compliance, with IT policy and procedure development aligned to ISO27001 principles, incident and event management practices, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning. The NSW IT function maintained the firm’s IT filing system within the Document Management system, owned IT documentation updates, acted as escalation for the service desk, and coordinated vendor management and reporting to the partnership.
The implementation positioned iManage Work as the firm’s authoritative Document Management platform supporting legal practice management and document workflows. Ongoing operational scope included day-to-day support for Windows 10 and Office 365 users, server and network administration in the IaaS environment, and continuous governance to meet client security and compliance requests.
