In 2021, IBI Group implemented Sage 300 ERP, formerly Accpac, to consolidate core finance and billing processes. The deployment targeted ERP Financial functions and was positioned to support billing, invoice lifecycle management and full cycle accounts payable across the firm’s finance and project accounting teams in Canada.
Sage 300 ERP was configured to handle invoice preparation workflows, invoice finalization and issuance, accounts payable processing and ad hoc accounting duties. Configuration work emphasized accounts payable and accounts receivable capabilities, invoice analysis and amendment workflows, and integration points for financial posting and reconciliations consistent with ERP Financial operations.
Operational integrations included posting invoices to PMAS as a downstream posting process and continued use of Excel for initial invoice drafting and analysis. The integration with PMAS enabled transactional handoff for project or matter level invoice posting while Sage 300 ERP served as the system of record for financial postings.
Governance and process changes focused on enforcing timely invoice issuance to meet monthly billing targets, centralizing invoice posting in Sage 300 ERP, and establishing procedures for responding to client invoice queries and producing amended invoices. The implementation assigned custody of billing issuance and full cycle AP to finance and billing teams, standardizing workflows for monthly billing and client-facing invoice analysis.
