In 2017 Ikano Bank implemented MHR iTrent HR as its Core HR platform to centralize HR and payroll workflows for its UK operations. The implementation was led from an HR generalist function that owned recruitment for the UK and participated in HR project work, with the HR team including a line report of one HR Assistant and partnership with managers across levels for operational planning.
The deployment of MHR iTrent HR included configuration of core HR modules related to recruitment and onboarding, payroll processing, employee lifecycle management, absence and FTE reporting, and employee relations case tracking. The HR team designed and automated end to end onboarding workflows, created first day induction processes, and embedded pre employment check steps to ensure compliance with FCA regulations. The implementation also supported monthly reporting, salary benchmarking inputs, and assessment centre coordination tied into the HRIS workflows.
Integration activity focused on operationalizing HR and payroll processes inside Ikano Bank UK without external system integrator involvement stated in source materials. Operational coverage was UK recruitment and employee relations, with the MHR iTrent HR application used by HR business partners and line managers for case management, performance and attendance processes, and people engagement tasks.
Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with the HR team developing new policies and lifecycle processes and designating super user responsibilities to sustain configuration and first line support. The program drove a structural change in recruitment by bringing recruitment in house, a change that was reported to save the business approximately £25k per annum, while ensuring pre employment checks remained compliant with FCA requirements.
