| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, IMS Health implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial backbone. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured across FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, PS and BW modules to support finance and controlling, sales order processing, procurement, production planning and project systems.
The implementation included tightly coupled integrations with SalesForce.com for opportunity management and CRM, PeopleSoft 8 for HR and payroll, and Informatica 8 as the ETL layer, with reporting driven through Hyperion System 9 including Essbase, BI, Planning and HFM. Informatica 8 orchestrated extract, transform and load processes to align master data and transactional feeds into SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and into the Hyperion reporting layer. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the primary transactional source for financial postings and operational transactions.
Operational scope covered finance, sales, HR, supply chain, production and project accounting, and the architecture required daily synchronized data flows so management received accurate information each business day. Governance emphasized coordinated interface schedules, ETL-led transformation rules and reconciliation workflows to ensure consistent numbers across SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and Hyperion System 9. The deployment positioned SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the ERP Financial core feeding downstream BI, planning and management reporting processes.
