SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, innogy SE implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial solution to standardize and modernize enterprise finance operations across the organization. The deployment targeted core finance business functions for a Professional Services company with approximately 43,000 employees, positioning SAP S/4 HANA to manage financial accounting, consolidation, and transactional finance workloads. The SAP S/4 HANA implementation encompassed standard ERP Financial functional capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, financial close orchestration, and controlling capabilities, together with master data governance for finance. Configuration emphasized focused build and structured solution design practices consistent with SAP Activate methodology to support repeatable configuration, test orchestration, and release planning for finance modules. Architecture and operational tooling were anchored on SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud for hosting and SAP Solution Manager for application lifecycle management, with the Focused Build solution for SAP Solution Manager used to manage agile delivery, requirements-to-deploy traceability, and test management. SAP Digital Business Services and SAP MaxAttention services provided program-level support and governance, while coaching and Focused Build enablement was delivered by Vostura GmbH, a member of the focused solutions circle for SAP Solution Manager. Governance and rollout practices prioritized standardized configuration templates, test-driven rollout pipelines, and centralized change control within SAP Solution Manager to streamline rollouts of SAP S/4 HANA. The combination of SAP Activate methodology, Focused Build tooling, and MaxAttention support was explicitly used to streamline rollouts and provide ongoing operational and escalation support for the ERP Financial implementation.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Compensation Management HCM n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, innogy SE implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a broader SAP SuccessFactors suite deployment. The program explicitly targeted Compensation Management capabilities alongside implementations for Performance and Goals, Succession, Variable Pay, Recruiting, and Learning to create a unified talent and rewards platform. Configuration work focused on compensation planning workflows, variable pay plan configuration, merit and bonus modeling, calibration and approval routing, and alignment of compensation elements with performance ratings from Performance and Goals. Role based permissions were implemented using SuccessFactors RBP and the data model was extended to support multi-plan compensation structures and pay element mapping. The implementation covered HR and talent management business functions including total rewards, talent acquisition, learning administration, and succession planning. Integration touchpoints were defined for core HR records and payroll systems to keep employee master data and compensation components synchronized with recruiting and learning modules. Project execution emphasized project management, stakeholder management, and implementation readiness, with dedicated data quality efforts and roles and authorization design. Governance incorporated approval workflows, auditability through RBP, and process handoffs between compensation, succession, and performance owners to standardize compensation decisioning.

BigchainDB Legacy BigchainDB Platform Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2016 2016
In 2016 innogy SE deployed the BigchainDB Platform to create a Digital Product Memory aimed at improving supply chain provenance and product traceability. The deployment used the BigchainDB Platform as a core Blockchain Platform for recording immutable provenance records tied to individual products from inception through distribution. The implementation configured the BigchainDB Platform as an immutable asset registry, capturing cryptographic signatures, timestamps, provenance metadata and product tokenization records. Functional capabilities implemented included auditable event journaling, tamper evident ledgers for asset state transitions, and role based permissioning to control who can write and query provenance data. Operationally the solution linked product event streams and sensor telemetry into the ledger to associate physical goods with their digital records, supporting supply chain and quality assurance workflows. The architecture centralized provenance data on the BigchainDB Platform while allowing downstream systems to query product history, enabling product verification and traceability along manufacturing and logistics processes. Governance controls were established around asset creation, validation rules and access control to align provenance capture with audit and customer verification needs. The work focused on embedding immutable provenance records into operational workflows for supply chain and product management without referencing prior system names.
