In 2022, Intermax implemented Flexport Order Management, an Order Management application to centralize booking and shipment workflows for its manufacturing exports. The implementation connected Intermax’s origin operations in South Korea and Vietnam to a single platform used by teams that serve US and Italian customers, enabling nominated freight forwarder workflows to be executed through the Flexport Order Management interface.
The deployment emphasized core Order Management capabilities, including online booking placement, document management and distribution, shipment tracking and event visibility, and multi-party communication orchestration. Intermax’s teams moved routine order-to-shipment activities from phone and email into the Flexport Order Management system, establishing standardized document workflows and real-time data access for operational users.
Operational coverage included Intermax operations and finance functions that interact with international shipments, with the Flexport team at origin acting as an extension of Intermax’s logistics organization. The platform consolidated booking, bill of lading delivery, and shipment status information so that the same shipment record and documents are accessible to all parties in real time, reducing manual handoffs and accelerating customer communications.
Governance and process change focused on centralized booking authorization and document sharing, shifting approvals and document retrieval onto the platform. Outcomes explicitly reported by Intermax include faster access to bills of lading, which previously took 3 to 4 days and are now available instantly on the platform, improved operational responsiveness, and clearer visibility across shipping parties.
