SettleMint Legacy SettleMint Blockchain Platform Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Islamic Development Bank implemented SettleMint Blockchain Platform to build Sharia compliant subsidy distribution across its 57 member countries and reach an estimated 1.7 billion beneficiaries. The implementation uses the SettleMint Blockchain Platform in the Blockchain Platform category and was initiated by the Islamic Development Bank Institute in collaboration with SettleMint to explore blockchain enabled financial inclusion and development use cases. The deployment focused on tokenization of fiat currency and peer to peer distribution workflows, with the SettleMint Blockchain Platform providing token issuance, digital wallet management, and automated contractual execution capabilities consistent with Sharia compliant finance. The project automated the entire contractual process for Islamic institutions using programmable smart contract logic, removing administrative redundancies associated with Sharia compliance and enforcing spend controls by subsidy purpose. Operational coverage prioritized subsidy distribution and aid delivery functions across the bank group, with explicit governance controls that allow full transparency and control of spend at any time. SettleMint partnered with Ateon, a Riyadh based solution provider and systems integrator in the Fintech space, to support regional implementation and operational integration into IsDB processes and administrative workflows. The implementation restructured subsidy workflows and legal administration by embedding automated contractual workflows and real time spend controls, resulting in full transparency and eliminated administrative complexity as reported by the parties. The Islamic Development Bank SettleMint Blockchain Platform Blockchain Platform relationship centers on delivering Sharia compliant subsidy distribution, tokenization, and programmable control over aid disbursement.
