In 2017, JELD-WEN UK launched a greenfield, EU wide programme to deploy SAP S/4 HANA Finance 1709 as the core ERP Financial platform and to integrate operational planning with SAP IBP. The programme was led by a Europe programme director responsible for the strategic agenda and leadership of JELD-WEN Europe’s Enterprise Resource Planning organization and for executing the ERP strategic agenda across all deployment phases.
The SAP S/4 HANA Finance implementation addressed core transactional and financial process families, covering P2M, P2P, Q2C, and R2R functional areas and aligning record to report, procure to pay and quote to cash workflows with centralized finance controls. Configuration emphasis included standard S/4 HANA finance capabilities, master data harmonization and process orchestration to support finance, procurement and commercial operations across participating European sites.
Integrations referenced in the programme included SAP Integrated Business Planning, IBP, to link financial planning with operational supply chain planning. A European deployment model was developed in line with the global ERP organization, combining internal IT, regional business groups and external partner resources to coordinate delivery across countries.
Governance and rollout were designed as a five year programme with the programme director managing budget, spend, schedule, quality and scope, and applying disciplined project management processes and techniques. An Organizational Change Management structure, with defined processes and tools, was established to support adoption and to align business leaders, corporate teams and implementation resources through all phases of the SAP S/4 HANA Finance deployment.

The implementation focused on operationalizing time collection and workforce scheduling through ADP Enterprise eTIME, connecting time capture to downstream payroll processing and HR records.
Configuration work centered on Kronos Time and Attendance modules, with the Senior Business Analyst responsible for system configuration and business requirement management. The project included mapping time capture rules, shift patterns, and exception handling typical of Time and Attendance solutions, and producing documentation and training support material for local HR teams.
Integrations were implemented with TMF payroll and SAP HR, and the technical aspects of ETL were managed for the broader HCM portfolio including HRIS, T&A, Payroll, LMS, Compensation and Expenses. ETL and integrations were executed using SQL Server Management Studio, TSQL and Excel, and covered operational deployments in the UK, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, Austria and Finland.
Governance activities included elicitation and documentation of business requirements, identification of process impacts on technology and data, and acting as system consultant to HR to ensure system and process sustainability. Day to day European operational support responsibilities were established to maintain the Time and Attendance solution and related integrations.
