Configuration work emphasized controls and automation to align expense posting with month-end close activities and to feed business intelligence used by Accounting and FP&A.
The implementation integrated Emburse Enterprise with the firm financial ERP for posting expense transactions and with card feed reconciliation to streamline accounts payable handoffs, while covering the finance organization and firmwide expense users. Operational ownership rested with the Financial Systems Manager, whose remit included development, implementation and administration of the firm ERP and supporting BI reporting and analysis.
Governance included centralized expense policy enforcement, approval routing and formalized processes for annual upgrades and disaster recovery testing. The Financial Systems Manager established interim goals to improve the month-end close process and reduce risk while administering both the ERP and the expense platform.
