In 2018, JFC International deployed the Bastian Exacta Warehouse Execution System to support its Warehouse Management operations in distribution and fulfillment. The deployment targeted mixed ambient and freezer storage, incorporating two three-level pick modules and operational tooling to support full case and split case order profiles.
The Bastian Exacta Warehouse Execution System implementation included 850 positions of pick to light and a Vocollect voice picking system for directed picking, inline RFID capable print and apply machines for label application, and Accusort camera scan tunnels to improve read rates. Material handling and sortation were delivered with a Hytrol Prosort high-speed shoe sorter, electronic zone zero pressure accumulation conveyor segments, and four Ambaflex powered spiral conveyors, totaling approximately 3,300 feet of conveyor infrastructure.
ExactaWCS functioned as the Warehouse Control System element of the solution, paired with PC-Based Controls and a 3-D Human Machine Interface to provide central equipment orchestration and operator visualization. The implementation orchestrated pick-to-light, voice-directed picking, conveyor flow, sortation, printing and scanning workflows, and RFID labeling within a unified execution layer.
Operational scope emphasized warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and shipping processes across ambient and freezer areas, with the 3-D HMI and PC-Based Controls used for supervisory control and equipment diagnostics. The narrative reflects an integrated Warehouse Management deployment where the Bastian Exacta Warehouse Execution System coordinated complex material handling subsystems and warehouse execution workflows.
