| Serrala | Legacy | Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2011 | 2011 |
In 2011, Johnson Controls deployed Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable as an AP Automation solution. The Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable implementation was operated in a corporate finance environment that included the Corporate Procurement SAP Module, and it was oriented toward centralizing accounts payable workflows and invoice lifecycle management.
The implementation focused on invoice validation and PO reconciliation workflows, supplier master data management, tax analysis to ensure correct invoicing, and structured dispute resolution processes for supplier and PO requestor inquiries. Functional capabilities implemented included invoice exception handling, supplier information controls, and support for negotiating and documenting payment terms with key accounts to influence trade working capital.
Operational coverage crossed corporate procurement and accounts payable teams that worked closely with departments in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, and the program was delivered in an environment using SRM, SAC, and Dolphin Process Tracking System PTS A/P. The team managed supplier information loaded into SAP, enforced commodity classification and supplier rationalization rules, and coordinated PO and invoice consistency checks with SAP procurement records.
Governance and rollout included user training for SAP modules SRM and SAC and for Dolphin PTS A/P, ongoing supplier onboarding and data governance to maintain vendor record accuracy, and review of vendor agreements to ensure purchasing terms were met. The broader SAP program related to these activities was recognized with a Chairman’s Award and a Merit Award in 2015 for successful multi-country SAP implementations.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Johnson Controls implemented Workday Benefits to provide centralized Benefits Administration within its Human Resources organization. The deployment was positioned to support HR operations across Cork and the wider EMEA footprint, with explicit day to day ownership for employee life cycle events, new hire onboarding and exit processes documented in local HR and HRSSC workflows.
Workday Benefits was configured to manage core benefits administration workflows including benefits enrollment, eligibility rules, life event processing, benefit plan configuration and benefits reporting and analytics. The implementation work aligned with existing Workday administration activities and incorporated benefits administration responsibilities such as invoice management, benefits programs oversight and case management for employee inquiries.
Integration and operational coverage included targeted Workday ServiceNow testing for case and service request handling, and alignment with CRM case management processes used by local HR teams. Operational responsibilities extended to Talent Acquisition teams for new hire provisioning, exit survey analysis and the New Hire Audit for EMEA, reflecting cross functional coverage between benefits, recruiting and HR operations.
Governance and rollout included task mapping across France, Belgium and Netherlands, staged transition with organized hyper care periods for each activity and training delivered both on site and online to local HR, HRSSC and Talent Acquisition teams. Ongoing governance used SLA reporting, structured weekly KPI analysis delivered via Power BI, and a Quality Champion role to drive process improvement and structured calculation reviews.
Outcomes called out in implementation artifacts and role descriptions included systematic exit survey analysis, creation of talent acquisition statistics, promotion of time saving ideas and documented efforts to maximise SLA completion while reducing errors. Workday Benefits served as the central application for Benefits Administration within Johnson Controls Human Resources while supporting audit, reporting and continuous improvement activities.
