Local Government Corporation Legacy LGC NextGen General Ledger ERP Financial ERP n/a 2015 2015
In 2015 Johnson County, TN implemented LGC NextGen General Ledger as its ERP Financial solution for county government accounting and budget management. The deployment established a single-instance LGC NextGen General Ledger to centralize fiscal control for the county finance organization and adjacent administrative functions. The implementation focused on core ERP Financial modules, including the general ledger, fund accounting, budgetary control, encumbrance accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory financial reporting. Configuration emphasized a standardized chart of accounts, multi-fund and fiscal year support typical of municipal finance, role based security, and audit trail capabilities required for publicsector compliance. Operationally the LGC NextGen General Ledger was provisioned to serve countywide financial workflows, supporting the finance department and departmental spend owners across Johnson County administration. The implementation scope reflected the county scale with functionality oriented toward municipal budgeting and fund reporting rather than enterprise scale consolidation. Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with formalized approval workflows, chart of accounts governance, and month end close procedures adapted to the new general ledger instance. Primary Research performed by ARTW informed configuration choices and documented the implementation context for local government finance teams.
