Scope and Challenges
Johnsonville Sausage faced rapidly shifting consumer preferences and volatile key-input costs. The company’s manual processes did not provide the speed and agility needed to incorporate more information into the planning process.
The goal was to forecast, report and plan more effectively while continuing to offer customers the top-class meat products they expect.
The company had confidence in SAP as a reliable, long-term partner. They have been using SAP's CRM solution, SAP Trade and Promotion Management.
Outcome and Implications
The company partnered with itelligence in 2016 to deploy SAP's EPM product SAP Business Planning and Consolidation powered by SAP HANA.
With the implementation of the solution, Johnsonville Sausage significantly reduced manual data manipulation by creating a full business forecast; Created consistent and standardized financial reports, business rules, and planning calculations; Improved reporting flexibility by providing multiple forecast options and spread the forecasting workload among business owner.
