NECS Legacy NECS entree Distribution ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2014 2014
In 2014, Julius Silvert, Inc. deployed NECS entree as its Distribution ERP to support core distribution and warehouse operations across the company. The NECS entree implementation was positioned as the central transactional system for order processing, inventory control, and ERP feature sets, and it was maintained and enhanced under the IT manager responsible for systems strategy and operational alignment. The NECS entree implementation included targeted reprogramming of ERP features to align software behavior with existing business processes, and work on a warehouse management system project to extend distribution functionality. The IT team refactored code and optimized the virtual server environment that hosted NECS entree, which reduced server load and lowered infrastructure footprint while preserving application availability. NECS entree was implemented alongside other operational applications, with Appian and PeopleNET logistics solutions brought into the application ecosystem to address business process orchestration and fleet or logistics telemetry respectively. Network and infrastructure changes accompanied the deployment, including Cisco ASA5505 firewall management, HP ProCurve switches, a UNIX based employee web monitoring solution, a cloud and on-site backup strategy, and a cloud based VoIP telephony rollout. Governance and process changes were formalized during the NECS entree program, driven by ITIL practices and new Data Governance processes to ensure data integrity for the company data warehouse. Group policies were redesigned to improve security and auditability, IT reporting processes were established, and staff hiring and training were managed to support ongoing operation and continuous improvement of the Distribution ERP environment. The deployment period included explicit operational and financial outcomes that were tracked by IT, including documented annual savings of more than $145,000, a 71% reduction in server load and a 23% reduction in server cost following refactoring and infrastructure changes, and management of a technology budget of up to $1.7 million. NECS entree remained a maintained and evolving component of the company application stack, with ERP feature enhancements focused on improving software productivity and aligning with business goals.

Solera Legacy Omnitracs Roadnet Transportation Suite Transportation Management SCM n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Julius Silvert deployed Omnitracs Roadnet Transportation Suite for Transportation Management to support daily routed deliveries for a specialty food distributor operating from Boston to Northern Virginia, with concentrations in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. The deployment is centered on lead dispatch operations based in Philadelphia and supports oversight of approximately 35 to 40 CDL drivers responsible for customer deliveries and vendor backhauls. Omnitracs Roadnet Transportation Suite was configured to manage core dispatch capabilities including route planning and optimization, load and backhaul tracking, real time shipment tracking and exception management, and driver assignment and roster management. Configuration tasks emphasized maintaining data integrity within the Omnitracs TMS and formalizing workflows for accident protocol and reporting as well as safety and parking violation processing. Operational use extends into cross functional workflows, with the dispatch lead providing analytics and shipment-level review for 8,000 to 15,000 units shipped to support customer service, finance, and remote sales representatives for resolution of overages, shorts, damages, and returns. The TMS functions as the primary communication resource for on road concerns and as the system of record for daily delivery and backhaul status reporting. Governance and process controls were established around incident reporting, safety violation handling, and data stewardship inside the Transportation Management solution, with the dispatch lead responsible for enforcing those protocols and training new dispatch teammates. These governance activities operationalize exception handling and ensure transactional accuracy across dispatch, accounting, and customer service workflows. Deployment architecture was implemented as a centralized Omnitracs Roadnet instance accessible to dispatch personnel and remote stakeholders, supporting real time operational coordination and record keeping for routed delivery activity across the service region. The implementation emphasizes operational controls, cross functional communication, and sustained data integrity within the Transportation Management environment.
