In 2019 Katan Group implemented Auto Count Accounting V2.0 as its core ERP Financial application to support new management requirements during a generational transition. The implementation targeted financial control and inventory cost management and was positioned to address sharp petroleum product price fluctuations through tailored costing logic.
Auto Count Accounting V2.0 was configured with customized costing methods and the product Batch Module to enable lot level identification and investigation of problematic items. The deployment incorporated standard financial capabilities typical of ERP Financial systems including general ledger and inventory valuation workflows, with configuration focused on cost calculation rules and batch tracking for retail petroleum inventory.
The project covered operations at Katan Wangsa Sdn Bhd under Katan Group and included governance changes driven by the next generation of the founder, aligning accounting and inventory processes to revised managerial controls. The Batch Module produced effective identification of problematic product batches, and the customized costing method addressed volatile petroleum pricing, enabling the business to operate with system supported procedures under the new management structure.
