In 2019, Kavli Group implemented CIPHR Payroll in a Payroll environment to streamline onboarding and pay processing for its consumer packaged goods operations. The deployment targeted HR and payroll workflows that support multiple brands within the group, and was positioned to handle increased seasonal hiring capacity without reentering historical personnel data.
The implementation focused on automating new starter processing, using CIPHR Payroll paylink functionality so starter records export directly into payroll. CIPHR Payroll retention of historical employee records was configured to allow teams to reactivate prior records rather than recreate profiles, and core onboarding data fields were standardized so the only required change for reactivated records was date adjustments.
Operational coverage centered on HR and payroll teams responsible for large seasonal intakes, with explicit planning for an upcoming intake of 200 additional seasonal workers. Integrations were implemented between CIPHR Payroll and the employer-facing paylink export workflow to eliminate manual handoffs, aligning HR onboarding steps with payroll ingestion and reducing touchpoints between systems.
Governance and process changes included a simplified starter workflow, where team members validate and amend dates on reactivated records instead of full data entry, and operational guidance to use the paylink export as the authoritative handoff into payroll. Outcomes stated by the customer included a reduction of 25 minutes per new starter on data entry, and a substantially faster starter provisioning process enabled by CIPHR Payroll.
