About the Customer
Kempinski Hotels S.A. is a hotel group. The group now has its head office in Geneva but was founded in Berlin in 1897 as the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft. Kempinski Hotels currently operates 75 five-star hotels and residences in 30 countries.
Scope and Challenges
Kempinski Hotels, Europe's oldest luxury hotel group, in 2016 has begun the implementation process of Infor Dynamic Enterprise Performance Management (d/EPM). The solution was planned to be deployed across the group's 73 five-star hotels in 31 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia and was designed to serve as a unified business intelligence platform, complementing the existing installation of Infor EzRMS.
The combination of both solutions integrated with the group's finance systems was expected to enable Kempinski to consolidate and analyze financial, operational, market and performance data from multiple sources, enabling faster and better-informed decision-making by providing a more holistic view of forecasting, revenues, and costs.
Outcome and Implications
By adding Infor d/EPM, Kempinski benefited from insights into specific business drivers on a single platform. For the first time, the group has access to real-time performance visibility across its business and is in a position to achieve increased consistency in demand management, distribution, and account production analysis. Infor d/EPM makes use of Infor ION, Infor's light middleware technology, to integrate with Kempinski financial systems, Infor EzRMS as well as other third-party systems.
Revenue management forecasts, as well as data from other sources such as finance, operations, reservations, demand and reputation systems, are sent automatically to Infor d/EPM, providing at-a-glance information which is designed to help with better decision making at all levels. Corporate executives and individual hotel managers can benefit from an easier web and mobile access.
Quotes
"We had full confidence when selecting Infor's Business Intelligence solution, due to their proven track record of providing leading technology solutions, and their ability to support and work alongside our teams during the implementation process. They are resourceful and think along with our business needs as a true partner rather than as just a systems provider." - said Riko van Santen, Vice President Digital Strategy & Distribution at Kempinski Hotels.
