| Emburse | Legacy | Emburse Invoice Enterprise | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, Kirkland & Ellis implemented Emburse Invoice Enterprise to centralize accounts payable work across its finance organization. The deployment targeted AP Automation to standardize invoice intake, routing, and approval across vendor and facilities spend.
Emburse Invoice Enterprise was configured to provide invoice capture, automated routing, approval workflows, exception handling, and supplier invoice management that are typical for AP Automation platforms. The implementation emphasized invoice processing workflows and audit trails, with Emburse Invoice Enterprise serving as the primary system for invoice lifecycle orchestration.
Operationally the finance and facilities teams continued to process hundreds of thousands of dollars in invoices yearly through Chrome River while Emburse Invoice Enterprise governed centralized invoice workflows and controls. The AP solution supported vendor invoice processing related to maintenance and office services, aligning accounts payable tasks with facilities work tickets and inventory billing where applicable.
Governance changes focused on role based access, approval matrices, and activity logging to meet audit requirements and to control invoice approvals. Emburse Invoice Enterprise was positioned to enforce standardized AP policies and provide a single point for invoice workflow governance across the firm.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, Kirkland & Ellis implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management. The deployment was executed as part of the firm's Core HCM and Time suite and maps directly to the Absence and Leave Management category used to govern leave entitlement and absence tracking for a 7,000 person professional services firm.
The Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management implementation was configured alongside Time, Benefits, Payroll, HR, and Staff Recruiting components to centralize absence entitlement, takes processing, and timekeeper workflows. Configuration work included absence plans and entitlements, time and absence processing flows, reporting definitions, and user role setups for HR Operations and local office timekeepers. The firm maintained PeopleSoft as the authoritative people data store for absence and related time records.
Integrations and operational coverage were explicit, including integration work with an online candidate onboarding tool that ties into PeopleSoft, and ongoing operational interfaces with Payroll, Finance, Benefits, Recruiting, Compensation, HRBP, HRIS, and Technology teams. Operational scope covered seven US offices with advisory support to five international offices, with a firm wide Time and Absence Support Team coordinating payroll submission and local timekeeper training.
Governance and rollout activity was managed through a centralized HR Operations function, with clear data stewardship responsibilities such as maintaining a business glossary, data lineage, and data sensitivity classifications. The program included formal testing, learning, and training activities, weekly timekeeping coordination calls, creation of processing flows, training guides, payroll cutoff calendars, and standard communications templates. Kirkland & Ellis subsequently participated in a broader PeopleSoft upgrade to 9.2 in October 2015 that encompassed HR, Time, Absence, Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting modules.

| Wolters Kluwer | Legacy | Wolters Kluwer Tymetrix | Legal Practice Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Kirkland & Ellis implemented Wolters Kluwer Tymetrix for Legal Practice Management to centralize billing, e-billing, and accounts receivable workflows across the firm. The deployment focused on legal billing and matter-level financial controls, positioning Wolters Kluwer Tymetrix as the primary application for time and expense capture, work-in-progress management, invoice generation, e-billing compliance, and billing analytics.
Configuration emphasized billing and reporting modules, including WIP management, billing and invoicing templates, customizable complex reports, and accounts receivable tracking within Wolters Kluwer Tymetrix. The implementation supported programmatic validation of fee arrangements and client-specific billing guidelines, and it enabled staff to generate tailored Excel exports and report templates for Billing Attorneys and committee stakeholders.
Integrations and coexisting systems were implemented with explicit connections to the firm’s external e-billing portals and internal finance tooling, integrating with Serengeti, TyMetrix 360, Passport, Collaborati, CounselLink, Corridor, CounselGo, and Legal eXchange, and interfacing with firm systems such as Rippe, Elite 3E, and ARCS 2G. Governance and rollout leveraged existing billing operations and practitioner workflows, with dedicated testing and training participation from billing coordinators and committee members. Staffing responsibilities retained subject matter experts to manage high volume WIP, monitor outstanding AR, follow client-specific billing requirements, and lead testing and upgrade cycles for Wolters Kluwer Tymetrix.
