In 2017, Kirklands implemented Infor Lawson as its ERP Financial system. The deployment placed Infor Lawson at the center of corporate finance operations, under the Enterprise Solutions organization, supporting accounting and financial close activities across the retail business.
Infor Lawson was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger processing, accounts payable and receivable workflows, fixed asset accounting, cash and bank management, and financial controls. The implementation included enhanced security and access controls, with an upgrade specifically executed to strengthen security features and protect the financial system.
The Infor Lawson implementation was integrated into Kirklands technology landscape via a centralized integration layer managed by the integrations team, using Mulesoft, Talend and IBM IIB for transactional and master data flows. Reporting and analytics interfaces leveraged Cognos for financial reporting, while the system operated alongside Oracle merchandising applications and HRIS systems to support order to cash and payroll related data exchanges.
Governance and operational support were provided by the Sr Director Information Technology Enterprise Solutions and the integrations team, using a mix of Agile and Waterfall delivery models for ongoing releases. The IT organization also aligned Lawson maintenance and security upgrades with broader initiatives that included eCommerce releases, WMS projects and SaaS implementations to ensure consistent financial controls across systems.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Kirklands implemented AppWorx Workload Automation from Broadcom as part of a Business Process Management deployment to centralize job scheduling and orchestration across retail and warehouse operations. The engagement supported automated end to end sequencing for POS, WMS and inventory processes while binding ETL and BI workloads into a single orchestration layer.
AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to manage batch workflows, time based schedules and event driven triggers for data movement and report generation. Configurations included job definitions that executed PL SQL and T SQL workloads, invoked Talend jobs, and sequenced web service calls used by order fulfillment and reporting pipelines, aligning workload automation with functional modules for POS data loads, ETL processing and BI report production.
The implementation integrated with the existing messaging and data infrastructure, including IBM WebSphere MQ for message flows, Oracle 10g and SQL Server for database processing, Talend for ETL orchestration and coordination with UC4 scheduling where processes overlapped. Operational coverage extended to store point of sale, ecommerce order flows and warehouse systems such as RMS, OCP and OMS, and it was used to trigger downstream BI validations in Business Objects, Cognos and MicroStrategy as part of end to end job chains.
Governance followed agile delivery practices with daily stand ups, backlog grooming and sprint planning, and testing leveraged QA artifacts such as detailed test plans, source to target mappings and data driven web service tests using SOAP UI and Postman. Runtime validation included message queue inspection with Rfhutil and WebSphere MQ Explorer, SQL performance checks and report validation workflows, establishing centralized scheduling ownership and cross team coordination for operational cutover and day to day job management.
