KIST Europe Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by KIST Europe and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 200 KIST Europe employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that KIST Europe has purchased the following applications: In-House ATS for Applicant Tracking System in 2016, IBM Watson Studio (ex IBM Data Science Experience) for ML and Data Science Platforms in 2017 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems KIST Europe is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with In-House Applications , IBM or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing KIST Europe revenues, which have grown to $20.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for KIST Europe intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2016, KIST Europe implemented an In-House ATS as its Applicant Tracking System and deployed the application on the corporate careers website. The web-hosted In-House ATS centralizes job posting and captures candidate applications through the company site, providing a direct recruitment intake channel for the organization.
Functionally the In-House ATS delivers core Applicant Tracking System capabilities, including online job requisition publishing to the careers portal, configurable application forms, candidate profile and status tracking, and workflow-driven application management to support HR recruiting and talent acquisition. Operational ownership and governance remained internal to KIST Europe, with HR using the In-House ATS to configure posting workflows, manage candidate lifecycle states, and operate recruitment processes via the website interface.

In 2017, KIST Europe deployed IBM Watson Studio, ex IBM Data Science Experience, within its ML and Data Science Platforms footprint to build a predictive model for measurement reliability in the smart factory. Data scientists from KIST Europe and IBM collaborated in Watson Studio to design, train, test and deploy a model that classifies whether a given sensor measurement is likely to be reliable, using a training set of more than 1,000 real measurements captured from IoT sensors.
The implementation emphasized model lifecycle capabilities in IBM Watson Studio, including iterative model selection, combination of multiple modeling techniques, training pipelines and testing workflows. Each training iteration took three to five minutes, enabling rapid experiment cycles for feature engineering, model evaluation and refinement inside the ML and Data Science Platforms environment.
Operationally the solution ingested smart factory IoT sensor data for use by manufacturing quality and data science teams, with the deployed model producing reliability predictions integrated into the production monitoring flow. The project scoped development and deployment activities to measurable production data, and the model now runs in a production inference posture for measurement validation.
Governance and outcomes were captured during the engagement, the team reported that developing the same models from scratch would have taken weeks, and that the deployed model achieves correct predictions in 98.1 percent of cases. KIST Europe and IBM are continuing experiments with additive learning techniques to further improve model accuracy while maintaining the IBM Watson Studio driven model lifecycle within the ML and Data Science Platforms category.
