| IBM | Legacy | IBM Maximo Application Suite | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Koch Ag & Energy Solutions deployed IBM Maximo Application Suite to establish an Enterprise Asset Management platform supporting operations and reliability functions. The IBM Maximo Application Suite deployment was positioned to deliver timely, accurate asset data across plants and terminals and to standardize maintenance and reliability workflows for the operations organization.
The implementation centered on a Maximo Foundational Alignment program that reworked data structure and content to ISO 14224 standards, including a functional location hierarchy, classification and subclassification schemes, attribute taxonomies, and a failure analysis and corrective action system. Configuration work emphasized failure code reporting, asset centric work management, inventory and item master controls, and standardized procedures for rotating assets and warehouse transactions to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Operations systems integration was an explicit focus, with the Senior Systems Analyst role driving systems integration and related business process alignment so operational sources delivered consistent data into IBM Maximo Application Suite. The rollout covered plant and terminal sites and targeted reliability and maintenance departments, enabling cross-site roll up of costs and metrics through a common functional location taxonomy.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical implementation, including a Maximo project framework for data structure, content and rule sets, SOPs for Maximo related transactions, and centralized change controls to ensure consistency across plants. Project management emphasized delivering project deliverables and spend on time and under budget while driving consistent processes to leverage economies of scale.
Outcomes explicitly documented include an ISO 14224 compliant failure code reporting system that produced a stated savings of $1.4 million, and operational improvements that greatly increased efficiency and reduced man hours on asset, item master and inventory processes. Several projects led from the Maximo operations excellence effort were focused on closing a stated $200 million per year reliability gap.

| Cority Software | Legacy | Cority Environmental Cloud | Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) | EPM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Koch Ag & Energy Solutions implemented Cority Environmental Cloud. The Cority Environmental Cloud deployment centralized compliance calendaring, environmental, health, and safety modules across two affiliates, Flint Hills Resources and Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, to create a unified Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) operational layer.
The implementation included explicit configuration work on compliance calendaring, environmental, health, and safety capabilities and focused on calculation builds and automated reporting. Teams executed more than 10 new compliance report builds for Flint Hills Resources and improved more than six builds within Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, while applying Cority knowledge extraction strategies and the Cority EIFL to supply day to day metrics and state of the art compliance reports.
Data integration was a central technical objective, with automated extraction from the PI System from OSIsoft data historian into Cority using unique tags, and downstream consumption in Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, and Flow for executive analytics. Prior manual Excel uploads were removed by establishing an automated data bridge that transferred operational monitoring data from four Koch Ag & Energy sites and four Flint Hills Resources sites into the Cority database so end users could validate and calculate directly in the system.
Governance and cross company collaboration were formalized by creating a preferred partnership between the two affiliates to streamline Cority knowledge sharing, led by Stephanie Harden, EHS systems manager. Process changes removed bureaucratic barriers that previously limited system access and calculation ownership, enabling closer EHS and IT collaboration and empowering end users to maintain configurations and calculations without heavy administrative handoffs.
Explicit operational outcomes reported include reduced spreadsheet driven error exposure and a reduction in manual data entry from 40 hours a month to two hours a month. Leadership gained consolidated visibility via Power BI pages that surface Cority data alongside other system data, and the initiative is positioned to drive broader adoption of Cority at KAES and potentially other Koch companies.
