In 2021, Komax implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud as its ERP Financial platform to harmonize finance operations across its worldwide group of subsidiaries. The deployment targeted consolidation of a complex network of heterogeneous local systems used by subsidiaries and independent agencies in more than 60 countries, and leveraged the SAP S/4HANA Cloud quick-start service to enable a predominantly remote implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Agilita acting as the implementation partner.
The implementation focused on core financial management capabilities typical of ERP Financial platforms, including a centralized chart of accounts, general ledger processing, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, and standardized financial reporting and consolidation processes. Configuration emphasized process standardization and simplification to reduce local variations, and master data centralization to support consistent accounting and procurement records across legal entities.
Architecturally the program established a harmonized cloud ERP landscape using SAP S/4HANA Cloud to minimize bespoke interfaces and simplify data exchange patterns with subsidiary systems, thereby reducing interface complexity. The project delivered simplified methods for getting information into and out of ERP systems and positioned the environment to support easier integration of future business acquisitions, while executing a fully remote go-live that was completed on time and within budget.
Governance and rollout used a structured change management framework that enabled end users to access systems early, supporting adoption during a remote rollout and allowing most project planning to be conducted off site. Komax plans to consolidate different ERP installations onto SAP S/4HANA Cloud to reduce ongoing system maintenance effort and costs, eliminate IT complexity, and create a harmonized operational backbone for finance and related business functions.

In 2021, Komax implemented SAP Analytics Cloud as part of a broader SAP S/4HANA Cloud adoption, with a clear focus on Analytics and BI. Komax selected SAP S/4HANA Cloud to harmonize its many existing ERP systems and to provide standardized processes and master data that underpin enterprise analytics.
SAP Analytics Cloud was configured to deliver enterprise reporting, planning, and visualization capabilities aligned to the S/4HANA Cloud data model. The implementation emphasized centralized analytical models, story based dashboards, embedded analytics, and planning workflows to support finance and operational reporting across the group.
The rollout followed a phased deployment, beginning with subsidiaries in Japan and Germany before moving to the Thonauer Group across several locations. Komax integrated SAP Analytics Cloud with SAP S/4HANA Cloud to consume harmonized transactional and master data and to provide consolidated cross subsidiary analytics and planning.
Project governance relied on the SAP Activate innovation adoption process and the SAP S/4HANA Cloud quickstart service to plan a fully remote go live when COVID 19 travel restrictions prevented onsite SAP experts. Agilita served as the system integrator, and Komax used SAP services and the Activate methodology to successfully adopt SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud, completing the implementation on time and within budget.
