In 2025, Landus Cooperative implemented Verity Tracking, a Blockchain Platform, to track and verify sustainable agriculture attributes for soybeans processed at its Ralston, Iowa facility, enabling sustainability premiums via export markets. The deployment targets supply chain traceability and carbon accounting across Landus’s farmer owner network and is planned to expand to additional facilities and pilot market solutions.
Verity Tracking, provided by Verity a subsidiary of Gevo, was configured to capture attribute level data and create an immutable provenance ledger for each soybean lot, supporting verification workflows and audit trail generation. Functional capabilities emphasized in the implementation include attribute tagging at intake, consolidated carbon accounting records tied to lot provenance, and automated verification status updates to support market eligibility for sustainability premiums.
Operational coverage began at the Ralston processing site and extends logically across Landus’s farmer owner network for upstream data collection, with plans to broaden use to more facilities and to pilot market facing solutions. The implementation centers on plant intake processes, traceability from farm delivery through processing, and data consolidation required for export market documentation.
Governance and process changes focus on standardized data capture at delivery, role based verification workflows for facility operators and farmer submissions, and centralized certification management to maintain consistent auditability across the cooperative. Verity Tracking is positioned to provide a single source of verifiable provenance and carbon accounting records to support Landus’s sustainability market participation.
