Planning Analytics was configured to pull a single source of performance data from general ledger and human resources applications, to support driver-based models and to provide user-friendly dashboards and automation for planning cycles. IBM Cognos Analytics was designed for data preparation, interactive analysis and visualization, and to complement the organization s existing IBM Cognos Controller for closing, consolidation and regulatory reporting. The implementation scope explicitly covers group-level and business-level decision makers, enabling managers across the 23 alliance companies to access self-service dashboards, drill capabilities and an AI-powered chatbot for recommendations. Attollo AB served as the implementation partner, reusing development work from Planning Analytics to accelerate Cognos Analytics deployment, and applying a user-centric rollout approach. Governance and rollout practices prioritized iterative user input during design and development phases to increase acceptance and manager ownership of cost and forecast data. Outcomes described by the organization include shorter planning cycles, increasing frequency from two to ten cycles annually, enhanced accuracy of long-term forecasts, and greater managerial involvement in cost management. The Cognos suite integration also supports more efficient compliance and consolidated financial reporting through continued use of IBM Cognos Controller.
